We’re looking for an experienced Dairy Herdsperson to join us on our family-run dairy farm in Somerset.

This is a hands-on role within a modern dairy setup where cow health, attention to detail and maintaining high standards are a big focus for us. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with livestock, takes pride in their work and wants to become part of a long-term team rather than just filling a position.

You’ll be working closely alongside the owner and existing staff, helping manage the herd day to day and keeping routines running smoothly. The role would suit someone confident around cattle who can work on their own when needed but is equally happy working as part of a team.

Main duties will include:

  • Milking and maintaining consistent milking routines
  • Monitoring herd health and reporting any issues quickly
  • Assisting with calving and youngstock care
  • Feeding, bedding and general livestock duties
  • AI work and heat detection (preferred but not essential)
  • Maintaining high hygiene and welfare standards
  • Tractor work and scraping where required
  • General farm duties during quieter periods

We’ve invested heavily into the facilities and equipment on the farm and continue to improve things year on year. We want someone who will take real care in their work and help us keep standards high across the whole operation.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous dairy experience
  • Be reliable and have a good work ethic
  • Be calm and confident handling livestock
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Be flexible during busy periods
  • Have a full UK driving licence

In return we can offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Good working environment with supportive team
  • Quality accommodation if required
  • Regular time off and rota in place
  • Long-term opportunity within a progressive dairy business

Accommodation Information
