Assistant Farm Manager – Mixed Arable & Livestock job in Herefordshire
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Farm Manager to support the day-to-day running of a progressive mixed farm in Herefordshire. This is a varied and hands-on role working across both arable and livestock enterprises, supporting the Farm Manager in planning operations, supervising seasonal staff, and ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Duties will include assisting with crop establishment, fertiliser applications, livestock management, machinery operation, and record keeping relating to compliance and farm assurance.
The successful applicant will be expected to take responsibility when required and work independently during busy periods, particularly during drilling, lambing and harvest. There will also be involvement in machinery maintenance, health and safety procedures, and helping implement improvements to efficiency across the business. This role would suit someone looking to step up from a senior farm worker position into management, with genuine opportunities for long-term progression for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone practical, organised and committed, with previous farming experience essential. Telehandler and machinery experience would be advantageous, although additional training can be provided. A competitive salary is offered alongside accommodation and the opportunity to become part of a well-run and supportive farming business.
